Appointments hat-trick for Ellis Jones Solicitors

Regional law firm Ellis Jones has invested in the future with three new Trainee Solicitors.

It has announced the appointment of Conor Maher, Georgina Emerson and Rebecca Bennett to the roles.

Ellis Jones has six offices across the south coast in Bournemouth, Canford Cliffs (Poole), Christchurch, Ringwood, Swanage and Wimborne as well as London.

Conor Maher, Trainee Solicitor in Banking and Finance Litigation, graduated in Law with European Legal Study from the University of Exeter.

He then completed his Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law. He is working in Ellis Jones’ specialist Banking and Finance Department.

Georgina Emerson and Rebecca Bennett have both been promoted from within Ellis Jones, from the position of Paralegal to Trainee Solicitor.

Georgina joined Ellis Jones in 2016 as a legal placement student as part of her Law degree and has since worked as a Paralegal whilst completing her LPC and Masters in Law at the University of Law in Guildford. Georgina is also assisting the Banking and Finance Department.

Rebecca, Trainee Solicitor in Dispute Resolution, graduated in Law from Bournemouth University. She joined the Banking and Finance Litigation Department at Ellis Jones in 2017.

She successfully completed her LPC and LLM in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Law in 2019 and is currently working in Ellis Jones’ Dispute Resolution Department.

Nigel Smith, Managing Partner, who joined the firm as a trainee in 1986, said: “Conor, Georgina and Rebecca are very welcome additions to the highly experienced and skilled team at Ellis Jones.

“Seven of the firm’s Partners, including me, are former trainees.

Trainee solicitors at Ellis Jones have a two-year training contract. The comprehensive training programme provides each candidate with placements in different areas of the business.
