Be a Tyler’s Friend

Dorset’s Douch Family Funeral Directors are encouraging people to help raise money for their charity of the year after all their fundraising events had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tyler’s Friends supports bereaved families in organising their preferred funeral or memorial for their lost baby or child.

It is named after Tyler Lunn who passed away 11 years ago after being born prematurely.

The group is challenging people to take part in its #Eleven4Eleven challenge – by doing sponsored events which include the number 11.

Lakeisha Douch, who is the fifth generation of the family group, said: “Tyler’s Friends is a charity that is very close to our hearts and we wanted to raise lots of money during the year.

“Unfortunately, we have had to cancel all of our events so we have launched this challenge which we hope will encourage people to get involved.

“We want people to choose an activity that includes the number 11, such as running 11 miles, baking 11 cakes or creating 11 paintings.

“It would be great if people could upload their efforts on to social media, tagging us in, and using the hashtag #eleven4eleven.

“We are also asking, if possible, could participants make a contribution to Tyler’s Friends through the donation page on our website.

“The bereaved families of children have found the charity extremely helpful in the most difficult of circumstances and the demand for their services continues to grow.”
