Bournemouth & Poole College A Level success

Bournemouth & Poole College’s sixth form students are celebrating their success after achieving an overall pass rate of 97.14-per-cent.

Young people and adults studying a wide range of A Level courses at the College including biology, business, geography, law, mathematics, media, politics, psychology, and sociology visited the main hall of the Lansdowne site from 8.30am this morning to find out their results.

Judith Grandjean, Learning Manager of Sixth Form at Bournemouth & Poole College, said: “We are thrilled with the success and hard work put in by all our students who are looking to gain the best head start for their future career aspirations. Our pass rate is above the national average, as it has been in previous years, which is a testament to the perseverance of the students and the fantastic support they receive from our staff.”

Scores of students will now be heading to their chosen universities, while many others will choose to continue their education at the Bournemouth & Poole College in a range of full and part-time courses, apprenticeships and degree level courses. College leavers will also be heading into the world of work as they begin the journey towards their dream career in a range of industries.

Ray Garcia, 18, who achieved an A in biology, C in chemistry and B in maths at A Level, said: “I feel very happy about my results. I’ve been offered an unconditional offer to study biomedical sciences at the University of Southampton, and my aspiration is to go into biomedical research.”

Pia Rodway, 19, who achieved an A in psychology and English literature, and a B in sociology, said: “I am really pleased as I put in a lot of hard work. I’m now going to Sussex University to study psychology with criminology.”
