THE countdown to Christmas in Bournemouth has begun!
The town’s festive market complete with traditional Alpine Bar in the Square launches on Friday 15th November but residents will see everything start to take shape in the next couple of weeks. The market, which is being set up by Bournemouth based Seventa Events will have 40 stalls and more local traders than ever.
There will be a bigger choice of catering outlets including for the first time, Zim Braai and Aruba, who will be serving delicious treats throughout the festive period.
Seventa Events founder and director, Simon Brooks said: “This is the third year of our five year market contract with the council and we are building on more success each time, there was a fantastic atmosphere and buzz last Christmas and the whole team is very excited about this year.”
Seventa is working hand in glove with the council, the Town Centre BID and That Group which lays on the ice rink. Christmas Tree Wonderland promises to be even more spectacular than last year. The upper floor and balcony of the two-storey Alpine Lodge overlooking the market is available for hire for corporate groups and private parties of up to 100 or with booths for up to ten people.
This year there is a real emphasis on community acts and performances on the central stage, giving local schools and groups the chance to shine and charities the opportunity to raise money and awareness. Simon added: “There is so much going on in Bournemouth this Christmas. It’s becoming a real festive destination attracting people from far and wide as well as local residents. It’s a terrific all round experience and we can’t wait to welcome everyone!”
Seventa’s sister company Innovative Hire will be providing and constructing all market huts, lodges, theming and props.
