Condor Office go green!

Local managed print provider and Chamber member, Condor Office Solutions, have invested in a pair of Bosch e-Bikes. With sustainability and environmental awareness more important than ever, businesses are being encouraged to minimise their environmental impact where possible. This even caught the attention of Local Member of Parliament, Steve Brine, who was keen to find out more about Condor’s green initiative and visited the head office to investigate.

Steve was keen to find out how Condor planned on using the e-Bikes to reduce their impact on the environment. Whilst it may be a step too far to use the eco-friendly e-Bikes to deliver & install 150kg photocopiers – they will be perfect for local customer visits and toner deliveries. With an impressive range of 62 miles, Condor expect to be able to significantly reduce their impact on the environment.

As well benefiting the local environment, the Condor staff are also looking forward to swapping seat for saddle. Condor Managing Director, David Bayles, said “One of the reasons this scheme will work is simply that being on an e-Bike puts a grin on your face. The staff are ready and waiting to get out and about to visit local customers.”

This isn’t the first time Condor have focused their efforts on environmentally friendly practices. They also run a well-established recycling & refurbishment programme for office photocopying equipment such as toner cartridges, parts and even machines themselves. This recycling programme was in fact recognised by industry leaders Canon with Condor winning the European Sustainability Award for their efforts.

For any other businesses interested in doing their bit for the environment, it is a good idea to get in touch with your local council to find out about any existing schemes in place aimed at encouraging and assisting businesses to adopt environmentally friendly practices.
