Dolphin Shopping Centre hosts Volunteer Fair

The Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole has partnered with Poole Volunteer Centre to bring a Volunteer Fair to its Eco Hub this month.

The Volunteer Fair will take place on Monday January 14, Tuesday January 15 and Thursday January 17, from 9.30am to 4pm daily. Free to attend and organised by Poole Volunteer Centre, more than 50 organisations are confirmed to attend, including:

  • BCHA
  • British Legion
  • Cats Protection
  • Diverse Abilities
  • Jon Egging Trust
  • Mind
  • National Trust
  • Pavilion Dance
  • Prama
  • Young Enterprise
  • Waste Not Want Not

The charities and organisations attending will have stands and information to increase awareness surrounding the work they carry out and how people can get involved.

John Grinnell, centre manager at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, commented: “We’re pleased to host this Volunteer Fair to provide people with an event where they can take a look at the many local charities and organisations that have volunteering opportunities.

“Volunteering can help you make new friends, improve your job prospects and enhance your sense of wellbeing. Poole Volunteer Centre have organised the event to help people give back to their local community and meet any New Year resolutions of volunteering more. ”

The Dolphin’s ‘Charity of the Year,’ Diverse Abilities, is one of the organisations confirmed to attend the Volunteer Fair. Mark Powell, CEO of Diverse Abilities, commented: “Volunteers who support our events and indirectly support the people who need our help are so important to Diverse Abilities. Volunteering is maybe the most rewarding thing you could ever do and will definitely have such a big impact on helping us achieve our goals.”
