Innovate UK: a great opportuntity from the DIT team in Barcelona, Spain

Start4Big event in Spain, an open innovation opportunity led by the 5 biggest companies in Spain (Aigües de Barcelona, CaixaBank, Naturgy, SEAT, and Telefónica). Companies from around the world have the opportunity to pitch to these companies with their responses to their challenges.  Only about 170 start-ups applied last year and 40 of those made it through to the pitching day to meet directly with these companies. The deadline to participate is very soon (January 15^th 2019).

The challenges are based in four main areas:

1. Biometric Authentication – How can we take advantage of biometrics in order to increase security and enhance user experience during digital transactions, as well as in homes, cars and other infrastructures?
2. X Reality – How can we improve business processes and customer service by taking advantage of visualization technologies?
3. Smart City – How can we leverage the connections between systems and the data gathered by our network of urban infrastructures to offer new products and services to citizens in real time?
4. Circular Economy & Sustainability – How can we take advantage of the circular economy solutions in order to contribute to sustainable development and promote the use of renewable energies? helping to optimize our natural resources and achieve the zero-waste goal.
