Get on Your Bike and Ride London

Ride the route that was made famous by the world’s best cyclists at the London 2012 Olympics and raise funds for children and adults living with disabilities in Dorset.

The ballot has now closed for this challenge, but Diverse Abilities has secured a number of places for this year’s Prudential Ride London event taking place on 29 July. The only way you can participate in this event is by signing up with a charity place by 24 May.

Get your bike ready for the 100-mile route that starts in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and takes you through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside.

Lauren McCullough, events manager at Diverse Abilities, said: “This is an extremely exciting opportunity that we have available for budding cyclists. The funds raised will provide care for the children and adults that the charity support and it will help bring happiness to all our services.”

Stu Bickel, from Poole, and his friend John Cocker have signed up to Ride London. They have been climbing partners for many years but decided to give themselves a different kind of challenge by cycling 100 miles together for Diverse Abilities.

Stu and John said: “Diverse Abilities make a big difference to many people in the Dorset area and we appreciate how vital the support is they provide. We are looking forward to our challenge and raising lots of funds for the charity.”

It is anticipated that this will be an extremely popular event. To ensure that you secure your place, contact the charity directly on 01202 718266. There will be a fee of £20 to enter, and all riders should raise a minimum of £450.

Your fundraising could achieve the daily cost to run the advice service to provide guidance and support, specialist toys for children with disabilities to play with, a day’s vital medical supplies for the children at the charity’s specialist school and much more.
