Humphries Kirk boosts social media presence

Leading Dorset and Somerset law firm, Humphries Kirk, took part in the popular Christmas trend, ‘Elf on the Shelf,’ contributing to an enhanced social media presence over the festive period.

Elf on the Shelf originates from a book of the same name, written by Carol Aebersold and Chanda Bell and has now turned into a popular festive phenomenon. The simple concept consists of placing a small elf toy on a shelf and moving it to various locations around the house to create the illusion of ‘popping up’ in different places and reporting back to Father Christmas.

For the first time, Humphries Kirk staff joined in with ‘Elf on the Shelf’ festivities. Each office had its own elf and placed the elf in different locations for sharing on social media.

Sean Reeves, solicitor at the Bournemouth office of Humphries Kirk, who suggested the campaign originally, commented: “We’re so pleased with the results across social media, and it was a great way to get everyone more involved with our marketing efforts. We hope this light-hearted campaign goes a little way towards showing how friendly and approachable the entire firm is.”

Humphries Kirk’s Twitter page saw an increase in impressions of 20 per cent year on year, receiving 34.3k impressions in December 2018, compared to 28.3k in December 2017. The law firm’s Facebook page saw an increase in reach of 50 per cent year on year, receiving 9.1k reach in December 2018, compared to 6k in December 2017.

‘Elf on the Shelf’ aims to improve kids’ behaviour by encouraging them to stay on Santa’s ‘good’ list in the lead up to Christmas. The story goes that Santa’s elves are said to have been dispatched from the North Pole to every home at the beginning of December to watch over children.

Humphries Kirk has offices in Bournemouth, Parkstone, Poole, Swanage, Wareham, Dorchester and Crewkerne and has an international network of lawyers. Visit www.hklaw.eu for more information.
