Laura Staples, partner and joint head of private client services at Humphries Kirk, has joined the board of trustees at Crewkerne’s Henhayes Centre.
The centre provides services for the older population and disabled residents of Crewkerne and its surrounding villages. It runs several groups for members and non-members aimed at keeping participants fit and healthy.
As a trustee, Laura’s works alongside the other trustees in order to make decisions for the charity. This involves anything from accounts and financial decisions through to recruitment and personnel matters.

It’s an excellent resource for our local community and I would encourage everyone to have a look at the different services and activities on offer.”
The centre runs a variety of different events during the week including Monday Memory Group for people with dementia, computer club, short mat bowls, and a mental health wellbeing group.
Laura, accompanied by colleagues Abigail Doggrell and Sue Nicholson, assisted with serving the Christmas dinners at the centre last year, as well as serving hot drinks and greeting attendees on its open day in January.
