Humphries Kirk personal assistant charity swim

Rebecca Green, personal assistant at Humphries Kirk in Wareham, is taking on the Swim22 Challenge, which launched on Friday, February 22, and must be completed by Wednesday, May 22.

Swim 22, organised by Diabetes UK, encourages participants to swim the equivalent to the width of the English Channel over 12 weeks in their local pool.

Diabetes UK makes sure people can manage their diabetes by providing information, care and support for everyone affected by the condition. Its research develops new treatments and technologies, with the aim to finding a cure.

Rebecca commented: “I chose to take on this challenge because it is such a worthwhile cause with so many people living with as yet undiagnosed type two diabetes, as recently highlighted in the media. I’m making good progress so far but it’s certainly going to be tough to complete. It works out as 1,416 lengths of my local 25metre pool, but I’m excited to complete the challenge and raise money for a worthwhile cause along the way.”
