Lester Aldridge Apprentices Become National Young Apprentice Ambassadors

Two apprentices at Lester Aldridge have become national Young Apprentice Ambassadors as part of the Young Apprentice Ambassador Network (YAAN).

Lauren Pottle is currently completing a Level 3 NVQ Certificate and Diploma in Marketing and Melissa Charman is completing a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration. Both apprenticeships were undertaken with Bournemouth and Poole College and are due to finish in September.

YAAN is a community of apprentices and former apprentices who have chosen to register as Young Apprentice Ambassadors in their local area. The role of the ambassador is to promote apprenticeships and inspire other young people by describing their direct experience.

Following a training day in Winchester in October, the pair will be championing and promoting apprenticeships with young people including visiting schools, career fairs and events and speaking about their experience as an apprentice.

Lauren said: “I’m so happy to be an ambassador for YAAN, I look forward to sharing my experiences with other people to inspire them to take the apprenticeship route.”

Melissa said: “I’m excited for the opportunities coming up whilst being an ambassador; I’ve enjoyed completing an apprenticeship and would highly recommend it to others.”

Lester Aldridge currently employs 10 apprentices across a variety of business support teams; current apprenticeships include Business Administration, IT, Accounting and Marketing.

Michelle Ripsold, Head of HR at Lester Aldridge, said: “Apprenticeships offer a fantastic opportunity to those who want to combine achieving a qualification with on-the-job training. I am delighted that we now have two ambassadors at the firm to promote the benefits of apprenticeships to other young people.”
