October Cyber Security Awareness event for all

What’s more scarier, Halloween or a close family member being scammed for £20,000?

It is often cited that cybercrime is the top threat to business today but we know that cyber criminals target our business and personal lives, and the effects are direct and indirect.  Cyber Security need not be scary but to defend ourselves as a society, not just as individuals, we need to ensure we protect and look after each other.

An event is being held in collaboration with Bournemouth University, its students and local businesses.  It is open to all, whether you are a business owner, a manager, a worker, a freelancer, a parent, young people and ex-students – because it affects us all.

Having a family member affected by a big financial loss will likely involve you to help recover from that situation. Having a freelancer or supplier be hit, will impact you if you have a deadline for your work or goods.

This will be more fun, entertaining and educational than technical.

You can also to speak to a representative to see how easy it is to work with the University. Whether you were an ex-student or have never visited, come and see how much it has changed, and how the bridge between business and academia can be built.

There will be time for networking and drinks afterwards. We appreciate it is Halloween and even if you can’t attend, the awareness is still important for you to understand and share over your social channels.

For details of the event being held at Bournemouth University, Talbot Campus on Wednesday 31 October from 6-7.30pm.  For details click here.
