Talbot Village Trust helps spread awareness of YMCA Bournemouth

Talbot Village Trust has donated £2,000 to YMCA Bournemouth towards essential fundraising equipment.

YMCA Bournemouth provides a safe place to stay and holistic support for young people in the community who are facing homelessness. The charity organises events throughout the year to create awareness of the issues people are tackling on a daily basis within the county, and to also fundraise to help those affected to return to independent living.
A YMCA branded gazebo was purchased with the funding given by Talbot Village Trust for it to be used at a number of events held throughout the year. The gazebo has enabled YMCA Bournemouth to further promote the charity and the work they do to help those in need.
Mark Inkpen, deputy director of YMCA Bournemouth, said: ‘‘We are very grateful for the grant received from Talbot Trust which enabled us to buy a new branded gazebo. It has enabled our presence to be clearly seen at the various events we run to promote our work with children, young people and their families, and the homeless.’’
Russell Lucas-Rowe, Trustee, added: ‘‘Since YMCA Bournemouth received our funding, we have received positive feedback already about the greater impact the gazebo has had when it is used by the charity at its fundraising events. Awareness is key for the charity to be able to continue offering its services to those that require the charity’s help in the community. We are so pleased to have been able to help with our funding in this way.’’
Talbot Village Trust meets biannually, and will be accepting applications for funding from both previous and new applicants in the area before the Trustees meet in spring next year. Please go to Talbotvillagetrust.org for more information.
