Tree-cycle for charity

Diverse Abilities’ Christmas Tree-cycling scheme returns for its fifth year, providing the service to dispose of Christmas trees following the festival period.

Collections take place between Saturday 11th January and Monday 13th January 2020, across Poole, Bournemouth and East Dorset and must be booked online in advance.

Nicole Davey, corporate and community manager at Diverse Abilities, said: “This year is our fifth Christmas Tree-cycling scheme, from collecting a modest 250 trees in our first year, we can now collect more than 1,000 trees and our volunteers work incredibly hard to deliver an excellent service.

We are also extremely grateful to our sponsors; Maidmans Removals and Storage, Timbers Tree Care, Keyfort, and Waste Management Facilities Ltd who all provide their time and expertise enabling everything to run smoothly.”

Bookings are open now and the deadline is midnight Thursday 2nd January 2020, or when the 1,000-tree capacity is reached. There is a suggested £10 donation for the service, with 100 per cent of money raised going back to the charity.

Diverse Abilities is looking for volunteers with or without vans to help collect trees during the collection weekend. If you would like to help, either with driving or collecting, please get in touch with treecycling@diverseabilities.org.uk to find out more.
