Trethowans Supports Champion Ironman Competitor

Trethowans is supporting athlete Simone Mitchell as she looks to take on the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii in October to add to her existing age group half Ironman world title she won in the States last year.

The law firm, which has five offices across the South, heard about Simone’s commitment to Ironman from Partner and Head of the Commercial Property Team, Paul Longman, a keen cyclist based in the Southampton office.

Simone, 29, from Alresford, discovered triathlon, one of the fastest growing sports in the world, at the age of 24 and competed in her first full UK Ironman in 2012, also qualifying for the World Championships in the process.  In 2015 she set herself the goal of becoming age group World Champion at both half and full Ironman distances and aims to turn professional in 2019.

Simone, who trains around her work as a Pilates instructor and strength and conditioning coach, said: “I am extremely grateful to Trethowans for their sponsorship for my 2018 competitions abroad. I love my sport and such generous support means a lot to me as an amateur athlete.”

Trethowans’ Managing Partner, Chris Whiteley, said: “Simone’s discipline and achievements are truly inspirational.  We wish her every success for the World Championships in Hawaii in October.”
