For the Yellows are the official transport partner of Bournemouth’s enchanting Christmas Tree Wonderland 2019.

The locally-owned Bournemouth bus company is running open topper tours of the festive illuminations across the town in the run-up to Christmas and New Year.

The second year of the free Christmas Tree Wonderland is set to be bigger than ever and includes more than 100 trees and half a million lights.

The centrepiece is a 60-foot, walk-through tree of light with 30,000 LED lights which has with regular light and audio shows.

There are also replica trees from six cities around the world on the Christmas Tree Trail which runs from Pier Approach through the Lower Gardens to the Square.

Other attractions include an outdoor skating rink, an Alpine lodge bar, an Alpine market, live music, the Bournemouth big wheel, smugglers golf and a golden reindeer.

Bournemouth’s Aladdin panto stars and the town’s Mayor Susan Phillips launched the fabulous attraction which was followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

A team from Yellow Buses, plus an open topper and the company’s popular mascot Buster Bear were all at the launch.

Managing Director David Squire said: “Christmas Tree Wonderland is a brilliant attraction, one of the best in Britain, and is fast becoming an annual favourite for visitors from all over the country.

“We are proud to be associated with such an excellent and high-profile event which is not only giving Bournemouth’s off-season economy an incredible boost but is showing off the town at its best to the watching world.

“This is the second year of at least four we are the exclusive transport provider for the attraction and we look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Christmas Tree Wonderland.

“The launch event was once again superb, despite the weather, and we had such a lot of fun looking at the magical illuminations and following the trail through the gardens.”

Yellow Buses’ open-top festive themed bus, the Magical Christmas Lights Tour, will be running throughout the holiday season, giving passengers the best seat in town to view the fantastic illuminations in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas.

The non-stopping service departs from Yellows’ Travel Shop in Bournemouth Square on various dates between November 23 and December 30 and travels to see the lights in Bournemouth, Westbourne, East Cliff, Boscombe, Pokesdown, through to Southbourne Crossroads and back again.

There is even time for a short pit stop at the Marsham Court Hotel for a festive drink and snack before the tour finishes back in Bournemouth Square.

Yellow Buses was acquired by its management team – David Squire, Managing Director; Simon Newport, Commercial Director and Phil Pannell, Service Delivery Director – from RATP Dev in a management buyout in July 2019 for an undisclosed sum.

Christmas Tree Wonderland, supported by Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole Council, Bournemouth Town Centre Bid and Bournemouth Coastal Bid, runs until January 2. Full details can be found at www.christmastreewonderland.co.uk
