DCFA Continue to Improve Learning Opportunities for Dorset’s Football Community

The Dorset County Football Association has unveiled a new purpose-built learning environment, enabling the DCFA to deliver a greater provision for coaching and development training at their Headquarters in Poole.

The new building development at The Specsavers County Ground follows on from the installation of the 3G AstroTurf pitch and a series of ground improvements. Completing the development of a first class learning environment on and off the pitch. This highlights the continuing success of the DCFA and growth of all forms of football throughout the County.

Chief Executive Sue Hough MBE stated, “It’s with great pride that we have been able to provide a learning space that is accessible for all. Our aim is to ensure that the space is in continuous use: maximising the learning opportunities for players, coaches, referees and support roles, regardless of their age, genders or level of ability.”

The DCFA has national targets set by the Football Association to increase the numbers of participation in football, coaches and referees: which the DCFA is extremely positive about achieving. This follows on from an outstanding national review of the DCFA’s safeguarding and reporting procedures. Ensuring a high level of protection for all individuals that are involved in football within the Dorset county area.

The training complex will also be used by other clubs, coaching companies and available for private hire. The facilities are accessible to all, wheelchair accessible with “no step access”. The centre includes toilet facilities, a dedicated kitchen and car parking. To find out more about the Dorset County Football Association visit www.dorsetfa.com/
