Dorset Chamber Supports Pivotal Housing Association’s Christmas Appeal

When Pivotal Housing Association put out an appeal for Christmas donations to provide to families it works with, Dorset Chamber was one of the many companies responding with donations of toiletries, books, scarves, games and toys.

Working with vulnerable people to overcome their pasts and build a better, more independent future, Pivotal Housing Association has a dedicated staff to support people in this situation by giving them a home, building on their education, adding to their life skills and teaching them independent living, so they become part of the local community.

The aim of the appeal was to ensure everyone who Pivotal Housing Association supports would have a Christmas gift.

Kim Axford-Hill, Membership Advisor at Dorset Chamber who arranged the collection at Dorset Chamber, said: “Pivotal Housing Association provides almost c. 450 safe places for people who are vulnerable, often through no fault of their own. We wanted to put a smile on their faces with a gift this Christmas, and we look forward to supporting the organisation into 2020.”

Companies across Dorset supported the Christmas gift initiative by collecting gifts which were then picked up by Clare Sutton, Community Engagement Coordinator at Pivotal Housing Association. Clare said: “The Chamber has been fantastic not just promoting our Gift Appeal but even doing a collection themselves. Staff have donated some wonderful things which will bring a lot of Christmas cheer to our residents”.
