Hammoon House Host Garden Party for Charity

Diverse Abilities, the Dorset disability charity, was delighted to welcome over 130 guests to Hammoon House in Sturminster Newton for a garden party to raise awareness of the work the charity does for children and adults living with disabilities in the county.

Guests enjoyed a glass of Langham Classic Cuvee 2014 on arrival, which was accompanied by some Langham Fizz Rose Sorbet by Purbeck Ice Cream before sitting down for afternoon tea.

Speeches were made by hosts, Tony and Christine Bueno, patron of the charity Lord-Lieutenant Angus Campbell and one of the patrons of the event, Kate Adie as well as the charity’s CEO Mark Powell.

Ashley Weedon, relationship manager, said: “The aim of our event was to engage with new supporters that are local to us in Dorset, but we were delighted to also receive donations on the day raising over £8,000. We are very grateful to everyone that attended and look forward to growing these new relationships.

“A big thank you goes to Tony and Christine for donating us their garden for the day and inviting many of their friends to the event. Also, we are very grateful to the support of our event sponsors – Barclay’s Bank, Porter Dodson Solicitors and Advisors, Duke’s Auctioneers, Savills, Langham Wine Estate as well as support from Stewarts Garden Centre and Purbeck Ice Cream.”
