Darren Northeast of Darren Northeast PR has been elected the new Chairman of CIPR Wessex group following the retirement of previous Chair Natasha Tobin.
Nominated by CIPR Wessex committee members, Darren Northeast the Managing Director of Darren Northeast PR in Bournemouth has been named the new Chairman of the regional group. An experienced PR professional, Darren founded his own PR agency thirteen years ago, developing the company into one of the South’s leading and multi-award-winning PR agencies.
Darren Northeast said:
“To be selected as the new CIPR Wessex Chairman by other talented professionals, representing PR agencies from across the South, is a huge honour. In my new role, I look forward to influencing and promoting best practice in the PR industry across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. I would also like to thank my predecessor Natasha Tobin who has made such a huge contribution to the profession over her years of service.’’
Darren’s appointment to the position follows the retirement of Natasha Tobin from her role of Group Chair. Natasha served the Wessex region for seven years on the CIPR Wessex Committee. Natasha is a CIPR Fellow, and was previously a nationally elected member of the CIPR Council. She first joined the Institute in 1995.

Approaching its 70th Anniversary, the Wessex CIPR Group has a thriving membership of over 400 PR professionals in the South of England and over 10,000 members across the world. As well as providing a link between members and the main body of the CIPR, the Wessex Group also organises industry events, creates networking opportunities and has close ties with the Media and Communications Departments of Bournemouth and Southampton Universities.
