Make Security a Board Room Discussion.

Is your company taking the increasing threat of cyber-attacks seriously? Ian Girling, Chief Executive, DCCI and Simon White, CEO, Enhanced fear that many companies are not.

To tackle the problem head-on Enhanced invited local Dorset businesses to attend a breakfast meeting to discuss how they can prepare for the impending changes in data protection by ensuring adequate levels of cyber security are in place.

Ian Girling, Chief Executive from Dorset Chamber of Commerce & Industry opened the event stressing the importance to local companies, both large and small, of treating cyber security with the utmost urgency. “I was really pleased to support this excellent event with long-standing Dorset Chamber members, Enhanced. Both cyber security and GDPR are critical issues for businesses and it’s important we do all we can to help businesses really understand both the implications of these issues but critically the actions they need to take.”

Cyber security experts, ESET and WatchGuard, were guest speakers at the event and explained how technology plays a pivotal role in supporting your GDPR and cyber security strategy. Regrettably the threat of cyber-attacks is not going away, with hackers becoming increasing smarter. However, there are many steps that can be taken to prevent your company from becoming yet another victim. James Taylor, from Nuvias WatchGuard outlined 10 key areas which every company should take into consideration. Mark James from ESET covered the fundamentals of GDPR and the impact it will have on ALL companies operating within the EU.

Both Simon and Ian urge companies to put the subject of Cyber Security and GDPR as a high priority on their boardroom agendas.

Carolyn Collins, Director of Domiciliary at Care South attended the event and said, “We meet with Enhanced on a regular basis and are well informed on this serious issue. The morning provided valuable information and highlighted the importance of addressing a sensitive subject that could affect each and any one of our companies.”
