Merger of Citizens Advice charities to form Citizens Advice Bournemouth & Poole

From 1st December, the Citizens Advice charities in Bournemouth and Poole will be merging to form Citizens Advice Bournemouth & Poole.

This is an exciting time for the charity as it will open new funding opportunities that will allow it to run more outreaches as well as helping to support their new Benefits Specialist and their Water Debt Specialist, otherwise known as Jane the ‘Water Guru’.

Celebrations have already begun with a merger celebration held at the Italian Villa, with guests including other local charity and council members and The Worshipful The Mayor & Mayoress of Bournemouth, Councillor & Mrs Lawrence Williams.

Recent funding acquired through the BSBT project; delivered by the Home Office and M&C Saatchi; will see the charity support the Government’s Counter Extremism Strategy with their own Hate Crimes project.

Citizens Advice Bournemouth & Poole is mainly made up of volunteers who dedicate their time to helping the public.  The charity works to promote equality and challenge discrimination.  Some of the core areas the charity continues to offer support and information include housing, work, debt and money, benefits and consumer rights.
