Rivals Put Down Their Swords!

Bournemouth and Poole based entertainers have taken the unprecedented step of joining forces to help fund-raise for local charity The Dorset Children’s Foundation to help to raise money to support local sick and disabled children.

Seven top children’s entertainers, who are normally in competition with each other and are part of Bournemouth Entertainers Network (BEN), are putting together a fun, family concert with all the proceeds from the ticket sales going to the charity!

The Dorset Children’s Foundation (The DCF) was set up in 2013 to improve the lives of local sick and disabled children and since then have donated over £500,000 to local children, but so much more is needed. The charity funds medical expenses, mobility equipment and therapies not covered by the NHS. The DCF also grant life enriching experiences, including holidays and accessible to all sports and activities, to create special memories that last longer than a lifetime.

Patsy Hallmey Co-Founder of the Charity said: ‘We are thrilled that all the proceeds from The Ben Show will benefit our charity and we are so grateful to the entertainers for giving their time and creating a fantastic show that will not only raise money but also put so many smiles on so many faces. Every penny will go the children that we support as we keep our overheads to a minimum and they are covered by the sales from our Charity Shops’.

The BEN Show is during Half Term on Thursday the 30th of May at the Hamworthy Club, and will include magic, comedy, juggling, balloon sculpting, dancing and games and is great fun for all the family.

This is the chance to see all the acts in one hit and Mr Merlin & Okey Dokey The Dragon, Jamie Jigsaw, Krazy Kev, Philip Dixon (Get Up and Groove), Jules the Entertainer, Jamie Jambo and Richard Welsh (Party Time for Kids) all combine for this entertainment extravaganza which is not to be missed!

Mr Merlin said:

“We are quite fortunate in Bournemouth to have a small, select group of individuals who are professional entertainers at the top of their game happy to work with what are effectively their business competitors to raise money for a great local charity. A lot of hours of preparation, planning and brainstorming have been done to put together a show that the families who come to watch it will, we hope, absolutely love”

Tickets for the show are just £8 and available on their website: http://thebengroup.co.uk/
