Rugby World Team of the Year

Bournemouth Rugby Lions stood out from the crowd this season by winning the South West Premier title and moving up to National Two South, with a stunning 25 wins in their 26 Level Five fixtures. They averaged 38 points per game with a total of 999 points for the campaign.

And now they have been crowned the 2018-19 Rugby World Magazine Team of the Year. “This is a combination of much hard work among many, many people, who then allows the 18 players to represent the club on any Saturday”, said James Croker, Bournemouth Rugby CEO. “Those boys have all contributed to the 27 point winning margin in the league, which is a record by any standards”.

“The whole club is a great place to be and everyone is extremely proud of what the players have done on the pitch. It’s a testament to everybody who’s contributed even if it’s in the smallest of things. Amazing club effort, well done!” said Croker.
