THE DCF’s Fundraising Comedy night

The Dorset Children’s Foundation held a fantastically fun fundraiser that raised over £4,200 for the charity!

Coastal Comedy staged the event at the theatre at Collegiate Schools who gave them the venue free of charge as they are their Charity Partner and continually support the charity. In addition the Sixth Form pupils helped on the night which was fantastic. A great time was had by all, whilst raising funds for local sick and disabled children.

Urban Guild supplied delicious canapes for the event and Conker gin donated a welcome drink.

The audience were entertained by comedy magician Wayne the Weird who’s set included a lot of audience participation to the delight of the crowd. Also performing on the night was Mike Cox winner of the South Coast Comedian of the Year Award and Aarron Simmonds who is a BBC New comedy Award Finalist.

The night was topped off by local TV headliner Gareth Richards and hosted by Adrienne Coles.

Patsy Hallmey from The DCF said: ‘This is a fabulous way to raise money. Everyone gets a fun night out and not only do we raise much needed funds but it raises our profile locally too as everyone was invited. We will be staging this every year from now on’

Notes to the editor: About The Dorset Children’s Foundation

The Dorset Children’s Foundation was set up in 2013 to improve the lives of local sick and differently abled children and since then we have donated over £500,000 to local children. We are a small, independent charity and fund medical expenses, mobility equipment and therapies not covered by the NHS. The DCF also grant life enriching experiences, to create special memories that last longer than a lifetime.

Our 3 successful charity shops in Bournemouth, Dorset, cover all our modest overheads so every single penny that is donated goes to the children – 100%. We are ‘big enough to make a difference but small enough to care.’
