Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, is delighted to have been chosen as charity of the year by the Unite Students staff of Purbeck House, Bournemouth.
Unite Students is the UKs largest purpose-built student accommodation provider, and Purbeck House, one of Unite’s homes for success, announced the partnership, which will continue until July 2019.
During the next year Purbeck House has committed to arranging numerous events to raise funds for the charity that supports children and adults living with a disability across the county.
Steven Hopkins, service and sales assistant at Unite Students, said: “As part of the Unite Students’ Positive Impact programme, we want to support our local community and feel that Diverse Abilities is the perfect cause to raise funds for. This particular charity has been chosen as our charity of the year because they offer a broad variety of support in the local community in which we live.
“Working with our students we aim to raise funds by hosting multiple events in Bournemouth throughout the year, which will be fun, engaging and most of all, will promote awareness of this amazing charity.”
Rachel Clayton, community and corporate fundraiser at Diverse Abilities, said: “I know Steve supported us when he was at university so it’s great to see that he has now continued this into his professional career. I am delighted that we can engage with such a large community through the students and I’m intrigued to see the types of things they will get up to when fundraising.”
